Contribution matrix

Score the founding team

Use 0 for no contribution and 5 for exceptional contribution.

How it works

The calculator turns contribution scores into a founder-pool split.

Each pillar is scored from 0 to 5. The weighted points are compared across founders, then converted into shares from the founder pool.

Scores original insight, product vision, domain research, invention, designs, code, patents, trade secrets, or other intellectual property a founder brought into the company.

Scores who is actually building and moving the company forward: product, sales, operations, hiring, fundraising work, customer discovery, delivery pace, and day-to-day problem solving.

Scores time, focus, and opportunity cost. A full-time founder carrying core responsibility usually scores higher than a part-time contributor with limited availability.

Scores cash, equipment, paid services, office space, cloud credits, or other measurable resources a founder personally contributed or guaranteed for the company.

Scores personal risk, reputation exposure, strategic relationships, customer access, investor introductions, industry credibility, and networks that materially improve the startup’s odds.

Each founder’s score is multiplied by the pillar weights. The calculator totals those weighted points, gives each founder their proportional share of the founder pool, then rounds shares while keeping the total pool intact.

Same scoring model

The demo uses the same weighted pillars as the app: execution and commitment matter most, with capital, idea/IP, and network also represented.

Private until you request email

The calculator runs in the browser. We only store your email and summary when you ask us to send the report.

Move to governance later

When founders are ready, the private vault version adds blind ballots, signoff, documents, vesting, and cap-table history.
